What to do in Easter?
Easter is really close and like each year, the beautiful city of Morelia offers multiple activities for its visitors. Here we give you some recommendations to enjoy with your whole family during Easter weekend.
Thursday April 13th
Visit the 7 temples, a walk through the most important temples of the historic center to commemorate the seven tours that Jesus did, after being betrayed by Judas. If you prefer music, the city of Morelia offers 2 options; presentation of tenor Jose Jaime Dias de Leon at the Temple of the Roses and at the Carmen Temple with 2 times, 6 and 7 pm, or the concert of the Singer Children of Morelia in the Municipal Palace starting at 8 pm.
Friday April 14th
This day you will be able to witness the Via Crusis, a representation to remember the Passion of Christ and his suffering towards Calvary. This activity will be held in front of the Nun’s Temple from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. After this activity, head to the Plaza Valladolid where the play “Behold, the man” is presented.
If you want to taste the best dishes of the city, the most important restaurants of down town offer a special Easter menu to enjoy at lunch time with the typical delicacies of Morelia.
At night, get ready to see a wonderful show of lights, Music and projections called Mapping, a family show that takes place in Plaza Valladolid at 9:00 pm.
Saturday April 15th
Holy Saturday also has various activities, including the Via Matris which is about the representation of Virgin Mary’s suffering as she walks her son, Jesus, in his pain. This activity will be held at the temple of the Cross at 12 pm.
